From Mom
Dear Friends old & new, known and not yet introduced:
Thank you. I feel all of your lifting up and energy coming my way. It's working!
It has been really rough but today (4th of July) it is 4 am and I awake feeling much better (I'm not wanting to go back to sleep!).
Today I get moved to a rehab facility. Counting on it to be tough. I want to literally WALK out of there. They will have 3 hours a day of training - I HOPE it is like Boot Camp. Please help me hold that thought.
I feel honored to be called "Mom." Please feel free to ask "Kid Sis" about me - she'll tell you!

Happy Rehabbing, Mom, hope the boot camp doesn't get TOO rough! Maybe they'll have arts and crafts, too, and a sing along at the campfire every night.
Move, feet, move!
That's my mantra for you. :)
Lynne
Work it Mom, Work it! Miss you.
I'm sending you happy, strong, thoughts & prayers from Texas. I am the Nurse Sis in my family. Sounds like you have a great, supportive family. Lean on 'em!

Hi, Mom!
So glad to hear you're feeling better.
Give 'em hell in rehab :)

You don't know me, but that's ok! I've read your blogs and am keeping a candle lit for your recovery. I hope you kick butt in rehab.
It's great that you've shared your story of your miracle. Keeps hope alive in so many ways :)
I popped over from Kid Sis and wanted to wish you the best. Your family is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have them.
I returned to my family from LA recently to help with a sick father, but he would rather ignore everything and waste the chances he has been given.
It is very nice to see someone beat the odds.

Mom says thank you!
I print out all of your comments for her and take them to the rehab hospital - can't tell you how much she enjoys reading them!
Congratulations on the Eisner Award!!! Way to go!!!
congrats to Brian, Mom, and the Sis'es. (or is that sis'?) (anyway, to both of Kid and Nurse Sis.
I do hope you're getting stronger and feeling better every single day! We'll all be waiting for you to get home. I just left a message on Kid Sis's blog, but wanted to leave one for you too, congratulating the entire family on Brian's award. That is so cool! (I'm one of the cartoonists from the Wisen and we're all so proud!)
I'm also the one who quit smoking March 1 and I'm still a quitter!! :) I'm really cranky sometimes, but then I remember what you've gone through and I realize that I have nothing to be cranky about, only thankful that SO FAR, I'm ok.
All my best,

Tell Kid Sis to print out some of my cartoons for you! I KNOW you'll appreciate them. :) And I'm pretty sure they'll make you smile. I always tell my readers not to take any liquids before viewing them. (you know what I'm talking about)
Hi Mom,
I've just finished composing a fan letter to Brian and you're the next one in family to get one. You actually are more deserving in it because you went through the trauma that triggered the now Eisner award winning comics adaptation of your story. I check in with yours and Elizabeth's blogs everyday hoping you'll be strong enough to type your thoughts out for all of us. Not being a religious person, I can only hope that on a human level you'll be well enough soon enough that an assisted living facility will not be necessary. You've been through waaaay too much to be denied your freedom. I know full well that assisted living does not mean prison, but I imagine you as someone who prefers some independence. Please keep us appraised. I miss you and would love to read the Eisner acceptance speech you might have used. Bye for now.
